Some instructor's at HCC may require you to upload your paper to a plagiarism checker such as Turn-It-In. The instructor should be able to provide you with instructions for use of this tool.

Merriam-Webster's Learner Dictionary defines plagiarism as "the act of using another person's words or ideas without giving credit to that person." Plagiarism is much more than simply copying or using someone else's ideas and can be a difficult concept to fully understand.
