There are a few ways to search for eBooks only:

Catalog:

In the library catalog, click on the Advanced tab. Search using an asterisk (*) and select 'eBook (HCC Only)' from the Material Type dropdown menu. Instead of using an asterisk, you can supply your own keyword (for instance, 'dummies', to get all eBooks from the "...for Dummies" series).

To read any of the eBooks, click on the title of the book and then on the "Access this ebook..." link. You will be prompted to enter your HCC "W" number (for students) or your first and last names (for faculty/staff) and personal password before being taken to an ebook page.

From there, depending on the ebook supplier, you will probably have several different options for accessing the ebook. Some allow downloading of the entire ebook with just a click or two, while others might restrict you to downloading a chapter or section at a time, or even a certain number of pages per session. In many cases (for example, with EBSCO or ProQuest ebooks), you can either choose to access the ebook through the provided Table of Contents and print, download, or email pages from there (up to any limit), or you can often choose to download the entire ebook and access it for a chosen loan period. For the download option, you will need to set-up a free account and to download and use specific software, such as Adoble Digital Editions as directed.

Remember that you can always contact the HCC libraries by choosing a location from here: https://library.hccs.edu/libraries/home or by using any of the methods found at https://hccs.libanswers.com/
